On a carpet are projected a number of sleeping, intertwined bodies of men and women. They are naked. Their helplessness and innocence are touching. We have to walk over them and when we do, they react.

This installation is inspired by the performance Standing people by Mette Edvardsen and Lília Mestre. It approaches the quantity of information and awareness that circulates inside ones head while living. It is an attempt to create links with others by offering bribes of information that generate dialogue, thought and communication. We are speaking words of ourselves and others. We are speaking alone and together.

Visit to the first floor of the Centro de Arte Moderna da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, the place where will take place, in June, the exhibition 'Partituras e Paisagens'. I study the plans of the first floor. There seems to be a door at the far left end (for whom climbs the stairs coming from level 0) of the space. One of the walls set up for the exposition of Jorge Pinheiro that runs until June, makes it impossible to verify this conjecture. So as to be able to look over the 3,5 metres high wall, I ask Maria de Assis for a step-ladder, who, in turn, directs this request to the technical staff. The first step-ladder that arrives is too small, but on the second try, thanks to a higher ladder, I finally see what is on the other side of the wall...

 		Film gives itself up to movement and gives us movement.
Movements of the city, of the facades and the streets, functional movements and casual movements, political movements, migrations and immigrations, solitary movements and mass movements, movements of denial and demand, of change and expectation. Uninterrupted landscape of the city.
This search and surrender is also a movement between different ways of looking.
I invited 14 film directors for this project, asking them for 1 to 4 minutes of material, filmed or imagined, leftovers in a drawer that had been waiting for an improbable use or that realise another intention in this format.
