Cristian Aros Arancibia is an actor and sound artist, and co-director of the CAPRA Arte Colectivo, whose practice is characterised by its transdisciplinary nature. He has taken on various roles throughout his career, including performer, director, soundscape designer, guitarist, and composer. In Chile, between 2006 and 2022, he performed at the Teatro Nacional de Chile, the Festival de Dramaturgia Nacional, and the Teatro UC, participating in projects funded by MINCAP and numerous tours. As a director, he has staged works at the Sala Jorge Díaz (U. Finis Terrae), the Andrés Bello Archive (U. de Chile), the Teatro del Puente, and the Teatro de la U. Mayor. His sound performance Mi Vox was presented at the 4th PM Poetry and Music Festival. The band La Cabra Voladora, which he founded, received support from the 2020 Music Fund for Creation.
Since 2022, he has been based in Portugal. During this stage of his career as a sound artist, he has undertaken residencies and performances at Central Elétrica, Espaço Porta Jazz, Teatro da Didascália, RAIA-CET (Espaço Alkantara), Jardins do Bombarda, and A Bela Associação. Additionally, he worked as a creator on (In)Voca vol. I at the Theater Im Depot in Dortmund—a collaboration between CAPRA and the Cistifellea Collective funded by Culture Moves Europe and the Stadt Dortmund - Kulturbüro. He also designed the soundscape for the video-poem Toda la parte por el todo, screened at the Nudo Festival in Barcelona, and implemented Cuerpos en Traslación at Espaço Burrikornio as his final project for his Master's in Sound Art. He completed his Theatre studies at PUC-Chile in 2008 and holds a Master's degree in Sound Art from the University of Barcelona (2025).
