matéria leve

- Other Gatherings
The matéria leve [light matter] study group returns to the Alkantara Festival, creating a collective space for learning nourished by the festival programme.
Assuming that a stage work is, first and foremost, a space of attention — one that proposes unique ways of seeing and listening — the study group analyses the architecture of relationships present in each performance. From the perspective of languages commonly used in the performing arts — such as lighting, sound, and scenography — the group asks: What kind of place does this work create? What meanings does it open up? What kind of gaze and listening does this piece propose? What relationships emerge? What operations could nurture them? What are we being invited into?
light matter is a platform for research and training in stage lighting. The project welcomes the participation of cisgender women, non-binary, and transgender people, and is free of charge.
Activation of the study group by Leticia Skrycky e Carolina Campos with participants of matéria leve Bee Barros, Gabriela Claveria, Ska Batista, Josefa Pereira and Naiana Padial Produced and managed by Joana Cardoso Supported by Alkantara, República Portuguesa – Cultura, Juventude e Desporto, DGARTES – Direção-Geral das Artes, Espaço do Tempo, Arts Center BUDA, Forum Dança
